As we are all busy with Christmas shopping, parties, and numerous "to do" lists, let us take time to remember the reason for the season...Christ was born. What a wonderful story that we have to share with the world. The "political correctness" of the season makes me sad...I still greet everyone with "Merry Christmas" and am saddened that the world wants to promote "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holidays".
This year, we are down-sizing our celebrations. Our grandchildren now stay at their house to anticipate Santa Claus and are creating their own Christmas memories. We are seeking a more moderate gift-giving and looking for alternative ways to spread the joy of Christmas with others who may be less fortunate than we are. The commercialism of Christmas has become ridiculous.
Last night I watched the Billy Graham Christmas Special. It was so heart-warming to see clips from previous Christmas shows and see the legacy that his evangelistic crusades and associations have created. What a testimony of faith the Graham family is. The GRANDsons are busy with school activities, football and baseball. Cheering on the TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS is our family pasttime.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years.
